
Johnson Mugabe is an emerging Zimbabwean self taught paper collage artist based in Harare where he works from his home studio.
He started drawing at an early age but never considered himself an artist up until he was in his early twenties when he stumbled upon paper collage art and fell in love with it.
Mostly his subject matter are people going through their daily routines with a strong bias towards children. The reason being a desire to reconnect to his childhood which he considers the happiest phase of his life.

Johnson has exhibited his work at the Wild Geese Art Festival 2018 where one of his pieces won the “Most Unusual Work on Show” Award and the Artists In The Stream X exhibition at Gallery Delta where another of his piceces was awarded a certificate of merit. He signs his work “nosnhoj” which is his name spelt backwards.
