Reality imitates art sometimes and other times art imitates reality as captured by oppressed/thoughtful an abstract sculpture by Edmore Sango.
Sango believes quite a number of Zimbabweans are not so happy and they are always thoughtful because of the economic hardships.
“The money they earn is not enough, they think a lot during month ends trying to budget the little money to solve their problems”, he says.
Among the young generation of sculptors, stone remains the common ground to express concerns familiar to all artists today. Unlike first generation sculpturing which grappled with the apparition of the spiritual realm, today’s sculptors are conscious of their environment and stones are smashed in the name of prevailing violence and civil disruption.
